About us

The Daisy Project

At The Daisy Project, we know that a pet is more than just an animal; they are a lifeline. Research indicates that pets significantly enhance human mental health by reducing stress hormones like cortisol and boosting “feel-good” chemicals like oxytocin and dopamine. For many, a pet is the primary source of routine, purpose, and companionship.

Because 86% of owners report that their pets have a positive impact on their mental health, we believe financial hardship should never be the reason a person loses that support system. Since April 2025, we have provided over 6,500 lbs of dog food and 2,300 lbs of cat food to Lubbock County residents, ensuring these vital bonds remain unbroken.

Our Impact

The Daisy Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that no pet has to leave their home due to financial hardship. We believe that a temporary struggle shouldn’t lead to a permanent goodbye.

By providing pet food assistance and support to families in need, we work to keep beloved pets out of shelters and right where they belong—with the people who love them. Whether it’s a bag of kibble or a monetary gift, every donation helps us sustain the bond between pets and their families.
